Bacon and eggs, good friends and a picture perfect day made a wonderful start to our day 2. It was 7 am, the motor started and everything stowed ready for sea, a quick stop at Southport Yacht Club to drop Brian and Judy at the wharf before Dad started to clean the thick layer of salt from the pilothouse windows and Alan stowed all the lines and fenders. At 1700 revs I steered to exit the Seaway at Southport, surprisingly calm seeing the forecast was for larger seas and stronger wind. Now at 3pm we are abeam Byron Bay Lighthouse, light winds from the East and calm seas. The dolphins played beneath the bow as the three of us stood on the pulpit in awe, it doesn’t matter how many times you watch them they always entertain. 60 nautical miles travelled since this morning and it is time for a sleep, we will leave Dad on watch.
Hi Karen,Allan & Cec,
Glad to hear you’re making good headway. Byron Bay dolphins are a fantasticly good omen! Thank you SO MUCH for your wonderful generosity and hospitality in inviting us on the first leg of your maiden voyage. We had a FANTASTIC TIME and thoroughly enjoyed the unexpected overnight on-board stay and your delicious dinner and breakfast. How fortunate are we? Most of all enjoyed both your company and the the lovable Cec. Hope you both can now unwind, catch up on your sleep and continue to enjoy good conditions all the way to Lake Mac.
Lots of love and best wishes.
Judy and Brian
